The Richmond Federal Courthouse – a community treasure
After successful participation in the renewal of the Fairfax County courthouse, Beaubois returned to Virginia a second time to provide architectural woodwork and furnishings for the Richmond Federal Courthouse. The seven-storey-high building is home to the U.S. District Court, U.S Bankruptcy Court, U.S Magistrate Court and the U.S Trustees Office, among others.
Beaubois produced wood furnishings and wall panels for the nine courtrooms. The walls behind the judges’ benches were decorated with unique leather-covered panels that matched the walnut wood of the furnishings in the room. The Beaubois team also contributed to the refurbishment of meeting rooms, the main entrance and the judges’ offices.
The architecture of the Richmond Federal Courthouse is in perfect harmony with the historic buildings of the neighborhood. Beaubois was proud to be a part of the revitalization of this important facility that will continue to serve the community for many years to come.
