About

The Stockton Courthouse – built for a growing community

Beaubois provided architectural woodwork for the new Stockton Courthouse, located in the historic Hunter Square in downtown Stockton, California. An investment of close to $300M was needed to construct the 13-storey, ultra-modern building.

Using a stunning, African smoked eucalyptus wood, the Beaubois team crafted wood furnishings for the 30 courtrooms including judges’ and lawyers’ desks, witness and jury boxes, doors, frames, etc. Reconstituted white oak was used for public seating benches.

Wall panels, made from white laminated plastic framed with aluminum, surround the three-floor central staircase. This bold design required extreme precision during installation. The Beaubois team worked carefully, within a tight timeline, to perfect this stunning focal point of the building.

The new Stockton Courthouse was built according to LEED® Gold certification standards and includes many environmentally-conscious features. While it fulfills current judiciary needs in Stockton, the new facility was also designed to meet future requirements as the community grows.
