Beaubois is seeking a Business Development Manager to support our growth across the Midwest U.S. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with clients, and generating profitable sales that align with our business strategy and operational capacity.
Territory Covered :
Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Tennessee & Wisconsin.
Job Purpose :
The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in the company’s growth and expansion. They are responsible for identifying new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients. The main goal of this role is to generate profitable sales, considering the company’s business plan, strengths, market demands, production capacity, and project risks. The incumbent of this role certainly has team management skills to supervise projects and ensure adequate employee and subcontractor presence on various sites.
Tasks and Responsibilities :
Sales
- Develop a solid sales strategy and present the company to potential clients.
- Identify and prospect new clients and potential projects.
- Target the most promising projects.
- Stay informed about market trends and competition.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Prepare and present the company’s prequalification.
- Oversee negotiations and close sales.
- Participate in close-out meetings.
Estimating
- Obtain invitations to bid on projects.
- Support the estimating process.
- Collaborate with the estimating department to set prices.
- Participate in bid verification and establish final prices.
- Submit bids and follow up appropriately.
- Suggest outsourcing and specialized suppliers.
- Develop strategic engineering solutions.
- Review and adjust prices and scope as needed.
Contracts
- Negotiate the scope of work, terms, and conditions.
- Oversee contract preparation and writing.
- Analyze contracts to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Prepare the final version of the contract with the business development manager.
- Obtain the signed contract from the client.
- Participate in internal project kick-offs.
Business Development
- Keep CRM opportunities up to date.
- Forecast opportunities for the next six to twelve months.
- Network with architects, developers, and general contractors.
- Provide updates on sales negotiations.
- Travel for business as required.
- Operate within the established budget.
- Maintain contact with clients throughout the contract, identify additional opportunities, and provide
Job Requirements :
- College degree in Business Management or related field and Trade School Diploma in Sales Consulting.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration (an asset).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a sales representative or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of architectural woodwork and the construction market (clients, competitors, projects, etc.).
- Familiarity with construction and woodworking materials.
- Ability to read architectural plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation and sales skills.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
- Proactive in problem-solving with great attention to detail.
- Perseverance and determination.
