Demolition and reconstruction of a building dating from 1952 - California Capitol Annex
The California Capitol Annex, which is adjacent to the main California State Capitol building, provides additional office space for members of the California state government. The building includes rooms for meetings and conferences, as well as being regularly used for legislative hearings.
The current building will be entirely rebuilt, as it no longer meets the government's space requirements and does not comply with updated construction standards.
A state-of-the-art building
The new California Capitol Annex building will have 537,444 square feet of floor space over 8 storeys. It will offer more space for staff while complying with the highest construction standards currently in effect.
