McGill University Health Centre – a premium health facility
Associated with the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University, the MUHC is an integrated university hospital center that is internationally recognized for its superior standards of care, research and teaching. Partnering hospitals -the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Montreal General Hospital, the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal Neurological Institute, the Montreal Chest Insitute and the Lachine Hospital – encourage a multidisciplinary approach, innovative techniques and practices, strategic partnerships and leadership in the transference of knowledge.
Beaubois obtained its largest contract in Quebec for the construction of this new center, which required an investment of $1.3 billion. With a surface area of 3,229,220 sq. ft, the new center includes 154 single rooms for children, 346 rooms for adults with private bathrooms and space for visitors. The research center boasts $190M worth of cutting-edge equipment and technology, as well as ultramodern data systems and telecommunications networks.
The Beaubois team crafted furnishings for 190 security and reception stations and produced custom-made cabinets, cupboards, changing rooms and vanities for the rest of the center. The new facility was designed and built in accordance with LEED Silver standards. Beaubois was proud to be a part of yet another impressive sustainable building project.
