The Albert Einstein Medical Center – an important part of Philadelphia’s health system

Since 1955, the Albert Einstein Medical Center (AEMC) has been one of the most important institutions in the U.S. devoted to medical education as well as clinical and basic research. Beaubois was thrilled to play an integral role in a vast enlargement project for the center. The new building has 146 beds for critical, surgical and medical care and one of its five floors is completely dedicated to the mother/infant healthcare program.

The Beaubois team produced and installed counters and tall cupboards in each of the rooms as well as furnishings and wall panels for the main reception area. A special feature created by the Beaubois team was the “Astronauts’ Wall,” composed of angled panels that create a brick-like effect.

The new AEME and its emergency department are equipped with cutting-edge technology and house all the ancillary services and beds for preoperative and postoperative patients. The center has more than 600 primary care doctors and specialists and nearly 1,200 affiliated doctors on staff. It trains more than 360 residents and treats more than 90,000 patients a year, making it one of the busiest hospitals in the Philadelphia area. Beaubois was proud to be a part of the expansion of such and important healthcare facility.
