The Harris County Civil Justice Center – a remarkable design
The new Harris County Civil Justice Center has 19 floors, 37 identical courtrooms, a grand Ceremonial Court and a taxes room. The impressive design includes a variety of elaborate wood elements including wall panels, doors and frames, judges’ benches, witness stands and court clerk boxes.
The Beaubois team provided masterful woodwork and an artistic touch for this ambitious project. A large quantity of solid quarter-cut cherry wood was used on this project. It was a challenge to protect it from humidity and subsequent warping that would make installation of the veneer very difficult.
Beaubois was thrilled to be a part of the prestigious new Harris County Civil Justice Center development.
