The Santa Clara Family Justice Center – dedicated to family law
Beaubois took an active role in the construction of the Santa Clara Family Justice Center. The project, valued at $23M, included integration of steel and ornamental and structural metalwork in the architectural woodwork. The Beaubois team was thrilled to lend its expertise to this ambitious and creative endeavor.
Extremely precise measurements were required because the architectural woodwork actually connected with the building’s ceilings and concrete flooring slabs. The Beaubois team ensured a perfect fit for the furniture, moldings and other wood elements.
Beaubois produced and installed furnishings and architectural woodwork in all public spaces of the center, as well as in the 20 courtrooms, which are mostly dedicated to family law. From adjustable judge benches to clerk desks and microperforated acoustic panels and benches for witnesses, the accused and the public, the Beaubois team worked extensively on all details of this project. Many wood pieces featured steel and ornamental metalwork as well as glass and quartz. The wood selected for this project was quarter-cut Sapelli.
With eight storeys and 230,000 sq. ft. of space, the Santa Clara Family Justice Center was constructed using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, into which Beaubois integrated its information. The project was carried out according to the Woodwork Institute (WI) of California and LEED Silver certifications. Beaubois was proud to contribute to the construction of this important institution that brings all family legal services under one roof.
