The Wayne Lyman Morse U.S. Courthouse – an award-winning project for Beaubois
The Beaubois team played an important role in the design of the Wayne Lyman Morse U.S. Courthouse. The architects outlined their objectives for the project, and then worked closely with Beaubois’ talented team to turn their ideas into achievable results.
Flat-cut cherry and walnut woods were used to produce furnishings and architectural woodwork for the six courtrooms, the judges’ chambers, libraries and the immense atrium in this five-storey building that covers 270,000 sq.ft. The Wayne Lyman Morse U.S. Courthouse houses the offices of two U.S. Senators and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives as well as the U.S. Attorney, Probation and Pre-Trial services, the U.S. Marshals Service and the General Services Administration.
During the opening ceremony for the courthouse, one of the Beaubois superintendents received a special recognition award from the General Services Administration (GSA). The plaque, awarded for “services and performance above and beyond the call of duty during the construction of this new building,” was one of only six such awards allocated for this project. The exceptional quality of work provided by this superintendent is a reflection of the values held by the entire Beaubois team.
