The Worcester Trial Court – an impressive new facility
The impressive Worcester Trial Court is the first in Massachusetts to house all judiciary services – superior, district, juvenile, probation and housing – in one facility. Beaubois provided all of the architectural woodwork for the structure, which was valued at approximately $180M.
From wall panels, doors and window frames to customized integrated furniture, wainscoting, moldings, judges’ benches, jury boxes, public seating and more, the Beaubois team provided exceptional woodwork for this project.
Makore, a type of mahogany, was selected for the wood furnishings because of its deep, rich color and its incredibly uniform figuring. In total, only four logs were used to produce the veneer for 27 courtrooms.
The Beaubois team was called upon to construct two interior courtrooms, shaped like a house, to be used as jury rooms. The team provided all of the architectural woodwork elements for these rooms, and also put up the gyprock walls. As always, Beaubois professionals worked closely with the architects to bring artful woodwork elements to this exceptional project.
